Created in cooperation with the American Indian Library Association (AILA), this poster features art from the picture book All Around Us written by Xelena González and illustrated by Adriana M. Garcia. In 2018, All Around Us received the American Indian Youth Literature Award: Picture Book Honor, Pura Belpré Illustrator Honor, and the Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children’s Book Award. González’s warm and comforting words and Garcia’s ethereal images tell the story of a child and her grandfather sharing and creating family traditions and the cycles of life and nature.

Author Xelena González is an accomplished librarian, dancer, and creative writing instructor. All Around Us is her first book. Illustrator Adriana M. Garcia is an award-winning artist, muralist, and scenic designer.
